If anybody knows of any working cocker spaniel breeders in Australia can they leave me a comment on this site? I don’t mean fluffy cockers that have been trained a bit – I mean the pedigree working cocker spaniel variety as found in the UK. Thanks for your help.
Breeders in Australia

Hello,
Try the Victorian Gundog club (http://home.vicnet.net.au/~gundog/index.html) for adresses for breeders of working cocker spaniels. I know one breeder of working english springer spaniels in Australia (www.wrangham.com). Maybe they have contacts with breeders who breed working cocker spaniels.
Good luck,
Estelle

Hey Brett
Can you tell us more about the pedigree, stud dog, expected dates etc.? We’d definitely be interested in one. It’s also a good excuse for a road trip.
Cheers
Andy
Hi Brett,
Currently I’m training/still working on my 2 show cockers in field trials, as wonderful as they are, both flushing/hunting well, working to the shot, and one retrieving rabbits. Very interested in a puppy next year, could you send pics and all info on pedigrees. I am just looking into New Zealand for pups.
Glad to hear I’m not the only one looking for working cockers
I am interested in working cocker spaniel puppies – do you have a litter?
Hi Brett,
I have a kennel club registered male non de-sexed cocker spaniel dog who I bought in Gloucestershire 3 years ago and am anxious to find him a mate. I live in Sydney. When would you be expecting to have your litter and what would be the parentage? Do you have photos of the parents.
Naomi

Hi there,
We currently have a litter of working cocker spaniels. We are in QLD. We only have one puppy left a black male. Very unusual to get roans in the working cocker lines.
Please call me on 0459516172

I went to an agility trial in the UK today and have completely fallen in love with this type of cocker. I would be very interested to learn more. We are here for the World Agility Championships but I live on the Gold Coast. Would be keen to hear from anyone in Australia with working cockers.

Hi I have a litter of chocolate and tan working type cocker spaniels in the UK for sale and someone from Australia has made enquiries about having one sent over ,to be honest my first thoughts where this is madness but having read some of the comments I can see a lot of people who love to own one ,I just wounded if anyone knows of dogs beings sent over safely .I would be concerned about them being on there own for so long cockers are very social dogs and don’t like being on there own and I think would get very distressed
Thanks Lisa
Hi Lisa
I would recommend NOT doing it. Firstly, there’s an age limit of 12 months anyway (or it could be 18, I can’t remember). Secondly, it’s a shit journey for the dog being brought out in a box for 36 hours. I’m glad Joey came out with me but I wouldn’t put him through it again. It would be worse sending out puppies because they wouldn’t have bonded with anyone in the first place and would just be being passed on to strangers. Regardless of how nice the people may/may not be in Aus I think you’re better off sticking with people in the UK for the dogs’ sakes.
We have litter of working cocker spaniel puppies, we bought our bitch with us from the UK in pup (only 10 days quarantine now). The sire of the pups is UK based FTCH (field trail champion) Tim’s Garry Barlow. We have registered both the bitch and sire with Dogs Victoria so puppies will have Dogs Victoria registration.
And they were obviously a fantastic litter … my little liver girl is an absolute gem, and i’m so looking forward to training her for agility. Definitely recommend the Albionshore litters to anyone!
Hi Tim,
I’m desperately looking for a breeder of working cocker spaniels in Australia, preferably Victoria but anywhere really. If you have any litters coming please send me an email on alice.burgess@outlook.com
Thank you!
Hi are you still breeding? We are returning from the UK at the end of March and have fallen in love with the breed and want a puppy (orange roan) as soon as we can. I would very much appreciate hearing from you. Rebecca
Hi all, just in case any of you are still interested i recently bought a beautiful working cocker from a fantastic breeder who i thoroughly recommend – but parents are brought over from the UK and a great breeder all round. She is just outside of Sydney, may not always have a litter but worth checking 🙂 – called Enigma, poodle.crosses@gmail.com + http://www.poodlecrossbreds.com
